CHAMBER GIFT
CERTIFICATES PROGRAM
The CertifiChecks Program is designed to keep dollars local and
drive potential business into our location. Area employers and consumers
from all over the country will now have the opportunity to order
Livingston County Chamber Gift Certificates at our office, through
the Chamber's website or by calling a toll-free number. All Chamber
business members are invited to participate in this valuable program.
LEGISLATIVE
ADVOCACY
Livingston County Chamber of Commerce speaks out on topics of significance
to commerce and business development for Livingston County. The
Public Policy Committee works to move issues to the forefront. The
Committee delivers a board approved Legislative Action Plan to Albany
every spring and frequently hosts session with State and Federal
legislators to address these issues.
SPECIAL PROJECTS
Recognition
- The Chamber sponsors annual recognition events:
- Tourism Honorees:
two awards, one to an outstanding organization, the other to an
outstanding employee in the local tourism industry. Awards are
presented at the annual Tourism Showcase in May.
- Business
& Industry Day Honoree - an outstanding local company is presented
the prestigious "Business of the Year" award at the
Chamber's Business & Industry Day luncheon.
- Agricultural
Honoree - a local farm enterprise is honored for its efforts to
promote farming as a business. This award is presented at the
annual Farmer/Neighbor evening.
- Leadership
Award - the Distinguished Leadership award is the centerpiece
of the Chamber's annual Leadership Golf Tournament. The award
is presented at the banquet following the Golf Tournament.
Scholarships
- The Chamber celebrates the achievements of area students through
three giving programs:
- High School
Chamber Scholars - Four scholarships are awarded directly from
member dollars in the general fund. Additional scholarships are
funded by member businesses.
- Jones Scholarship
- SUNY Geneseo. This award is made to a business student from
Livingston County attending the Jones School of Business.
- Genesee Community
College - The Chamber is in a giving program through GCC. The
College operates two campus centers in Livingston County.
Business Networking
- The Chamber provided regular networking opportunities:
- Member Orientation
- Breakfast meetings bring members together to meet the board
chairman and Chamber president in an informal setting.
- Chamber Issues
Luncheons - The Chamber hosts these forums where a guest speaks
on an issue impacting business interests among the membership.
- Chamber After
Hours - Every month the Chamber meets at a member business for
an informal networking activity held in the late afternoon and
early evening.
- Chamber Golf
Network - During the summer, a noncompetitive golf league is set
up to give members an opportunity to network and golf.

COMMUNITY REPORT
ADVERTISING RATES
The Chamber publishes a newspaper two times a year. The Chamber
Community Report goes into 24,000 homes and businesses in the County.
