The Tourism Office's marketing initiative is to promote our many tourism friendly attributes and attractions. Included in the marketing plan is publishing our annual 40 page Livingston County Visitors Guide, producing special interest collaboration such as the "Little Finger Lakes Wine Path" and the Livingston County Birding Trail, maintaining our tourism website, www.FingerLakesWest.com, membership in regional and statewide organizations, participating in tourism lobbying efforts on a local and state level, administering the I Love New York Matching Funds Program (marketing grants are made to our local festivals and events), print and radio advertising, brochure distribution, direct mail fulfillment, hosting Travel Writers, Editors and Group Tour Operation, sponsoring "Familiarization" tours of the county and much more.
A Tourism Council comprised of representatives from tourism market segments - accommodations, attractions/retail, restaurants, festivals/events, visitor services, education and community at large meets once a month to guide the tourism, marketing process for Livingston County. All county residents are welcome and encouraged to become involved in tourism marketing.
